Societas Pro Fauna et Flora Fennica grants
Societas pro Fauna et Flora Fennica awards grants for research that relates to the fauna or the flora of Finland. Grants are primarily awarded to students working on their master’s or doctoral theses. As a rule, grants are not awarded for post doc studies. Students working on their MSc thesis may apply for research grants of up to 2000 euros. Students working on their PhD thesis may apply for research grants of up to 1750 euros/month, for a time period of at most 6 months, and, additionally, for a sum of up to 2000 euros for equipment and travel expenses. Recipients of grants that exceed 4288.00 euros are required to take a MYEL pension insurance.
Time of application: February 1 – February 28 in the spring (February 1 – February 29 during leap years), and September 15 – October 15 in the fall.
A research plan, a budget and a CV must be included with the application. NB! All attachments should be included in one single file (in MS Word or pdf format). For the application, which is made only electronically, there is a specific form which can be found here during the application period.
Applicants who receive a grant from Societas are expected to send in a a report about the progress of the work before the end of the year (i.e., by December 31) during which the grant was received.
